If you created a private pool, you can invite friends by navigating to the pool and clicking "invite" which allows you to invite friends through text message. Once your friend signs up or if they are already using the app, they will see a pending invite for them by navigating to the Pool Play screen where they will be able to join.

Only Admins of Pools can invite people to join private groups.
